FUN STORY: my grandma lives in a city that was currently taken over by drug dealers and gangs and it’s now divided in two and my grandma is the oNLY CITIZEN IN THE WHOLE CITY who can go walking freely through both sides of the town because she used to do community work and feed the poor kids and those gang members were all fed by her so they let her come and go as she wants SO WHAT WE LEARN TODAY IS TO BE FUCKING NICE TO KIDS BC U MIGHT BE DEALING W FUTURE GANG MEMBERS
am I actually smart if the only people around me who have ever told me I’m smart were not exceptionally bright and never actually saw my schoolwork?
I feel like a lot of my friends, who are supremely intelligent, think I’m stupid or incapable. but they hold back. they never directly tell me I can’t do something because I’m not smart enough, but I can always kind of tell by their tone that they don’t think I should try to major in engineering. it gets to me sometimes. but I’m not going to let someone’s tone and possible doubt concerning my ability stop me from what I want to do. I might still cry about it, though.
ma’am im sorry but that baby was due today, i don’t care if its not done just turn in what you have

You know how you step back through your office door after vacation and the place looks a little weird? You think, “Geez, is this what it really looks like?” That sense of seeing your place with fresh eyes becomes a pretty horrible experience when you come back to find it in a real mess. Piles of folders, mail spilling out of your inbox, last week’s four used coffee cups, and who knows what in that bowl you forgot to wash.
